Step 1: Choose a Faction Deck
If you are playing casual mode, players will either have a random faction or they will pick 1 of 10 factions.
Each faction contains 1 General, 1 Lieutenant, 1 Artillery, 5 Distinct Units, 6 Action Cards, and 6 Equipment Cards.
In ranked mode, players will assemble their own deck out of the pool of all available cards.

Step 2: Organize Your Starting Units
Players begin with their General, Lieutenant, Artillery, and 1 Random Unit. They can organize these four units anyway they see fit on the first row in front of them on the board.
When players are ready to play, they hit Deploy Forces.
Note: You win if you destroy the enemy general before yours is defeated, protect that general!

Step 3: Play a Card
Players have a hand of 5 cards from their deck. They can choose to play 1 card which is in 1 of the following categories:
- Deploy and Unit
- Give a Unit Compatible Equipment
- Play and Action Card
NOTE: Player’s hand is always replenished to 5 after each turn.
NOTE: Units can be deployed up to the row of their general, so push your general up to expand your deploy spaces!

Step 4: Move a Unit
Each turn, a player can move 1 unit unless otherwise specified through an ability or Action Card. Each unit can move up to the number of squares equal to their MOV Stat.
NOTE: Moving a unit is required each turn.

Step 5: Attack an Enemy
If you have an enemy unit within one of your units’ range (RNG) stat, you can perform an attack. When you attack a unit, you roll a D4 die and add that to your attack stat. The Defender rolls and adds that to their defense stat. There are a few buffs through action cards, equipment, etc., but these are the following results:
- Attacker Wins: Defender Takes 1 Health Point of Damage
- Attacker/Defender Tie: Defender Retreats Back 1 Space
- Defender Wins By 1: Nothing Happens
- Defender Wins By 2+: Attacker Takes 1 Health Point of Damage
NOTE: Attacking an enemy unit is not required each turn.

Before you complete and attack, this probability screen will show up and give you an idea of your odds of success.

After your attack, the results page will show you what you rolled on a D4, plus any relevant stats, buffs, etc., that factor in.
In this result, the player hit, and therefore the defender lost 1 Health Point.

Battle Maps and Terrains
There are 10 different battle maps that are randomly chosen to be the stage of each game. Every map has four different terrain features and a dynamic element.
One example is the Ruined Battlefield seen below. In these games, Wayward Barbarians spawn and attack the nearest unit. This adds a wrinkle of chaos to the board. Other dynamic elements include rivers, blizzards, spreading thorns, and many more.
Use these features to your advantage to conquer the battlefield!

Additional Game Modes
